About Us
HaveYouHeard is envisioned to be a women-centric, Pan African music curators, educators, composers, social entrepreneurs, scholars and performers who carefully curate and celebrate diverse line-ups of emerging and established artists across various musical styles; spanning from world music, jazz, indigenous musics and contemporary classical experimental music.
The main aim of this creative team is to empower women in music, educate the public about the genre-rich history of female contributions, and foster a love for music among a wider audience.
What We Do
Our creative team engages and curates webinars, seminars, workshops, events and later a point, a two-day festival held annually in Johannesburg and Cape Town, at TBA venues in each city.
Our program and projects are geared towards modern music projects, collaborations, campaigns, events and festivals, which will be based in South Africa, and is dedicated to celebrating women and men in music, providing a platform for local, international and Pan African music lovers, festival-goers, and art & cultural aficionados to come together in a vibrant and immersive atmosphere.
HaveYouHeard team places a huge emphasis on innovative, collaborative projects that work towards building growth, expansion and sustainability to the South African music sector. Alongside our esteemed peers and coworkers in this sector, HaveYouHeard desires to expand work with interdisciplinary creative sector models; artists; projects; thinkers who are pushing the boundaries toward hybrid global exchanges and collaborative offerings in genres and in global music and towards positioning South African music as an active global voice to the power and economy of music driving social entrepreneurship and wealth creation.
